2000-2002 boom

This series was created during a two-year stay in the United States. the essence of the images emerges from screenshots of cinematic moments. Close-ups reveal the dynamic elements of nature and human activity—roaring sea waves, blazing fires, erupting explosions, cascading dust, and fragments in descent. Utilizing the grisaille technique, each painting reveals layers of depth and complexity. Initially rendered in monochrome, they are then overlaid with transparent hues, inviting viewers to journey closer to the heart of the flame. These works blur the line between abstraction and representation, offering a profound exploration of the borderlands between an abstract painting and one that is not.
